My First logo

One of my favorite memories from my time as a Lead at Goofy’s Kitchen in the Disneyland Hotel has nothing to do with serving guests—it was the beginning of a hobby that has stayed with me for decades.

One of our Cast Members was a talented caricature artist who entertained guests throughout the day. As we worked together, we often chatted during slower moments. I told him that I had recently moved from Northern California to Southern California and that I created a printed newsletter to mail back home. It was my way of keeping family and friends updated on my new adventures, sharing stories and photos of life at Disneyland and everything else I was experiencing.

One day, he surprised me by offering to design a logo for my newsletter. I thought it was a fun gesture, never imagining how much it would influence me.

Looking back, it’s funny how a casual conversation with a coworker and one unexpected act of kindness could shape a creative passion that I still enjoy today. Ever since then, I’ve loved creating logos for newsletters, websites, travel adventures, special events, and just about anything else that could use its own unique identity.
