Fall flowers
We still have some flowers thriving on the house’s side. As I walked over to start the water, I turned the corner and was greeted by a burst of color. It was a nice surprise.

After learning about pickleball late last year and only playing a couple of games, we challenged ourselves to play as much as possible this year, and so far, it’s been a good year. Most of our games are just us playing, as we tend to go later in the day/night when it fits our schedule.… Read More Lots of Pickleball Games
We did some Uber trips tonight, and Cas delivered to an address where it said to meet at the door. The customer explained he likes to tip the drivers directly at the door. Cas appreciated the $2 bill he received and complimented the customer on his vegetable garden. The customer continued to explain that he… Read More Special Uber tip
This weekend, we spent time volunteering at Spokane’s Hoopfest, the largest 3×3 basketball game in the world. It was a lot of fun and a great new location: the Pavillion in Riverside Park, where we sold the event’s merchandise. This year, both of us mainly worked on keeping items stocked on the floor and moving… Read More Volunteering at Hoopfest
Exploring Zion was an enthralling experience, pondering the ancient rocks beneath our feet, dating back millions of years, juxtaposed against our own fleeting existence as humans.
We woke at 6:30 am and enjoyed our final breakfast in the park. We packed up and hit the road by 9:00. When we hit the Salt Lake City area, we searched out In and Out and enjoyed two double-doubles, fries, and strawberry lemonade. We finally pulled up to the house at around 1:30 a.m.,… Read More Day 7: heading home

Once on the other side, we pulled over to explore a spot we hadn’t had a chance to visit before. As we started to hike around, we found beautiful rock formations created over the… Read More Day 6: Exploring East Zion
After a good night’s sleep and the sound of rain, we had breakfast and discussed plans for the day. Since it would rain all day, we rode the trails to the Temple of Sinawava again. It was fun to ride in the rain and enjoy being out in nature with a lot fewer people around.… Read More Day 5: bike ride in the rain
On our way back to camp, we stopped to revisit and explore a spot we had done years before. We hiked much further back into the canyon this time and had the perfect light for photos. We wanted to continue looking around but were losing the sun, so we headed back for dinner.
