The first musical I remember watching was when my sister Debi was in a show in Elementary School called The Electric Sunshine Man. The music still lives in my head all these years later, as I still know the first song’s chorus. In 1982, GB took Deb and me to see the movie version of Annie, and I was hooked. The music, the choreography, and Carol Burnett, who could ask for anything more. The movie inspired me to do something in the arts, and I knew I did not want to be an actor; I felt a pull to be the behind-the-scenes guy, which would last me the rest of my life. I fulfilled my passion when I started to volunteer with The Blue Devils in 1987 and continued until 2016.
