Phase one

At the end of September, we had planned a week’s vacation to start the Big Build, but first, we needed to buy supplies. We found a used concrete mixer on Marketplace and decided it would be an smart investment along with the other planned projects. We rented a two-person auger to help us dig the six holes we would need for the main posts and bought nine 4×6 pieces of pressure-treated wood for the posts and supports, along with 60 bags of concrete and misc supplies.

The following day, we got up early and started to dig the holes, and all went well until we hit rocks. It was back-breaking work trying to get them out of the ground, but we finished. We poured all the bags of concrete and set the brackets, and we will wait three days before we add the posts and secure them. On to the next step.
