Day 9: Heading home

The bikes packed in easily today, not sure what we did differently but we will take it. We left our place at 11:00 and stopped to say goodbye to Sailesh and Michael. We were at the US Border in Blaine and had to wait maybe 15 minutes before we crossed over.

Our original plan was to drive through Canada and drop down closer to home, but Sailesh reminded us that there was still snow in the mountains, so we might need chains to make it over and it would take us three hours longer. So we took Hwy 2 home which brought us to Leavenworth.

We had never been before, so we stopped for lunch at a German restaurant, walked around the town, and had an amazing fresh ice cream cone for a treat. As a bonus, we were able to charge up CasVolt halfway.

During the trip, the car started to pause a little and the check engine light would turn on, it’s still driving so we carried on. Well, today the car told us she was not happy. During our ride home, the car at the same time started to break and accelerate a few times then we would get the check engine light, ABS, and lane control lights. It scared the shit out of us and we were glad we were not on a busy road. We continued on and made it home safely.
