Day 1: good morning San Martin

We left the Airport and decided to drive down San Martin overnight. It took us seven hours and we only stopped for gas. The freeways here in Mexico are like nothing we have back home. Lots of tolls along the way, rough roads, cars and trucks just do what they want and they have speed dots all over to slow down the traffic. I managed to fall asleep every now and than but Cas and Geovanni were up for the entire trip.

As soon as we got into town, we headed to Mom’s house to surprise her. After catching up we headed out to breakfast and to get the day started. We visited the rest of the family, brought flowers to the cemetery, bought fresh tortillas made as we waited and best of all, enjoyed being with each other.

We finally got to bed at 10:30 pm and slept for twelve hours, so I think we’re ready for day two.
